Katherine Heigl is going from rom-coms…to rom-drams?

Variety reports the Grey’s Anatomy actress is set to star in Life as We Know It, a film about two singletons who must come together to raise an orphaned child.

And fall in love, perhaps?

The film, set to be directed by Greg Berlanti, sounds rich with dramatic possibility, but the really interesting thing about it? The actress is coproducing the film with her mother, Nancy.
